We
believe you matter to God! You are not just here to go through life,
die and that's it. God wants you to live life to its fullest. This is
not just a tired cliché. It's true. But you will never know the reality
of this statement until you put yourself into an environment where you
can investigate how important a relationship with God can be to your
life.
We realize to some, Christianity is a source of conflict
and distortion to life, and you might be one of them. But may we
suggest there must be some legitimacy to Christianity to have about 1.5
billion believers around the globe. That's more than one out of every
four people alive today. Have you ever wondered why the birth of Jesus
was so monumental that our dating system was split "Before Christ" and
"After Christ"?
So how do you explore this thing called Christianity?
Open Your Mind
Try
to release any preconceived ideas you may hold about Christianity, God
and Jesus. At Gateway we will never ask for blind obedience. In fact,
we will challenge you to explore by reading, asking questions and
evaluating different views. Perhaps you need to begin by saying to God;
"God, I don't even know if I believe in you, but if you are there I
want to find you and see if this thing called a relationship with you
can be realized. If this is all true, please show yourself to me."
Determine What You are Looking For
When
exploring the Christian faith, make sure that you want to find Truth. Make
sure that you want to find answers to life's ultimate questions. The Bible
is the book that speaks to the issues of life. It speaks to man's
greatest need as well as giving insight into living life successfully.
It has lessons on how to build strong relationships in your family. How
to become a better employer or employee. It deals with how to handle
your money. And on we could go. The challenge is to get into the Bible
and begin to unlock the lessons it has for you.
The Bible makes a fantastic claim about itself in Hebrews 4:12-13:

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged
sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and
marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing
in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and
laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (NIV)
